Is Real Estate Coaching Worth It?
May 05, 2019Is real estate coaching worth it? My answer: it depends.
It depends on the coach, and on if you're willing to put in the work.
If you're a great fit, your coach will accentuate your strengths, call you to task, and help you move forward strategically so you can 10X your results in way less time than if you were struggling on your own.
Some questions that will help you find the right real estate coach:
- what is your experience selling real estate?
- what results have your coaching clients had in the past?
- what approach do you have to coaching?
- what are you doing on a regular basis to stay at the forefront of business thought, leadership, human behaviour, peak performance, technology and real estate trends?
- what are your top strengths as a coach?
- are you more "old school" and into objection handling, door knocking, scripts, and cold calling, or are you more "new school", with a proven social media and ideal client avatar strategy?
Not having the right coach can mean that you feel like you're spinning your tires, making no progress even though you seem to be doing more and more work. You're trying "facebook ads", scripts, cold calling... literally doing everything you'd like to do... and you're not getting anywhere. Or worse, your coach makes you feel like you're failing, totally overwhelmed, or frustrated beyond all doubt.
The relationship between coach and agent goes the other way as well. Even the best real estate coach in the world cannot get results out of an unmotivated, uncooperative agent.
From there, it's a matter of logistics - cost, availability, timing, and commitment.
Prices and styles of real estate coaches vary greatly, so it's important to do your research. Most real estate coaches will offer a free "discovery call" to see if you're a fit before you sign a contract with them.
